We waited several minutes for someone to appear. ![]() was a gentleman sitting at the bar, but mo bartender. Upon entry, we were met by a sign saying to get an employee to seat us. We stopped in while traveling through, arriving for a late lunch. We enjoyed this restaurant years ago when it was Randy's Supper Club. They just put the bowls on the table and left or picked up plates at the end, no interaction what-so-ever. ![]() What can I say about service? Nothing actually since we had no one to take orders, bring anything out to us other than what was on our family style dinner. The good thing is, years ago when it was Randy's and most of us were on a diet so didn't eat the main course meal as we were all eating the small salad, we asked if we could have more salad they refused and wouldn't let us take the main course food home to our families as they were going to serve it on their buffet the next day - who does that? So yes, they did take unused food and reuse it! You may be ok if you go in and order separate meals but, don't do the group thing - ever. It was pretty scant servings for a table of 8 folks paying $200, no food was left this time. Oh yea, I forgot about the green beans which everyone had about 6 or 8 of each. Mashed potatoes about a cup and a half total with gravy and rice about the same amount as the mashed potatoes. There were 8 dinner rolls, about 8 - 10 small thin shaved pieces of beef, 4 pieces of fried chicken, which I'm not sure how to divide that between 8 people with there being a leg and a wing included in the 4 pieces. salad, French dressing for everyone ( no dressing choices) and although that's ok for me, I like French dressing, it would have been nice for others to have their choice. Each table had 8 folks in our group and the cost was $25 per person. We came as a large group so we were seated in a private room and had I believe what is called family style food. I had a good nacho plate there a ways back but nachos are hard to goof up. I've been to 841 four times now and three have been a disappointment In summary the dank atmosphere of the windowless banquet area combined with a really mediocre buffet layout AND.someone trying to pipe in some intercom music but scratching back and forth between selections would lead me to recommend a hard pass on this place I'm surprised that for such a special occasion like mother's day there wasn't a more eye appealing spread at841 The buffet selection was pretty skimpy even though on paper it looked fine.Įvery day of the week except Mondays the local Asian buffet sets out a much more attractive offering. No actually if you asked for the included salad plate there was a shishkabob stick with a few little squares of fruit impaled upon it They buffet was set up and I thought I might start with a fruit plate but there was no fruit in the buffet ANYWHERE! ![]() Since it was a special brunch I've never been to I had never seen that area before but instead we were taken left into the windowless larger banquet area When we arrived I was expecting to get steered to the right into the main dining area with the big Windows which look out onto the street and are a pretty pleasant seating environment. We were there for the mother's day brunch earlier this month.
